The amount of work required to initiate a project varies from organisation to organisation and project to project. If Scrum is to be used as the framework for delivering a project, then aim to spend the minimum amount of time possible in getting to a position where the iterative Scrum cycle can begin. The "Preparation" section contains some of the candidates for initiation or preparation work. This phase of initiating a Scrum project is sometimes referred to as Sprint 0.
