Daily Scrum Meeting

A short status meeting that is time-boxed to 15 minutes and is held daily by each Team. During the meeting the Team members synchronise their work and progress and report any impediments to the ScrumMaster for removal.

These meetings are extremely useful and can bring the following benefits:

  • "Impediments identified for removal by management" as soon as they occur thus maintaining the momentum of development.
  • Less duplication of effort.
  • Better understanding of interdependencies between Team members.
  • Clear goals and direction are shared across the Team.
  • Impetus builds throughout the sprint.
  • Improved productivity through the peer pressure of having to stand in front of the Team and say what you've been working on
  • Team communication
  • Builds team dynamics and ethos
