Sprint Goal

While the Project Vision communicates the overall purpose and spirit of the project, it is also helpful to have a vision for each Sprint that encapsulates all the tasks into a "Goal". So for example, rather than Sprint 6 just being another Sprint where we build more stuff, it becomes the "Customer Payment Sprint". A Sprint goal might be along the lines of:

"This Sprint we will allow users to log-in to the site, retrieve a forgotten password, and manage their own profile".

The Sprint Goal will be agreed in the Sprint Planning meeting at the beginning of the Sprint.

Defining a Sprint Goal in Scrum for Team System

Within Scrum for Team System you can add your Sprint Goal to the Sprint Work Item Type's Description field, accessable through the Sprint Goal tab.

To update the Sprint Goal of a specific Sprint, select it from the "All Sprints" query as shown below:
